Wedding at Babington House

Lauren and Jon brought their family and friends together from all over the world to this exclusive Soho House, members only, location. They celebrated their love for one another in the gorgeous church within the grounds and made their they partied the night away together. They asked me to capture their event for them and this is their story.

Nestled in the idyllic English countryside, Babington House emerges as a jewel of elegance. As a part of the exclusive Soho House members Club and a Grade II-listed manor, its historic charm fused with modern luxuries makes it a wedding venue like no other. This blog post takes you through the intricacies and allure of saying ‘I do’ at Babington House.

Founded in 1705, Babington House holds the whispers and elegance of the past tightly within its walls. The history of this estate is as rich as its lush green surroundings, blooming into a premier destination for lovers seeking the ultimate declaration of their bespoke event.

Within this majestic retreat, couples will find everything they need for a fairy-tale day. An escape into the enchanted 18-acre grounds promises a backdrop consisting of ornate gardens, an atmospheric woodland, and sprawling lawns that set the stage for an unforgettable Somerset ceremony.

Lauren and Jon travelled from Bath to celebrate their stunning wedding day in the heart of Somerset. Babington House is not just a venue for them; it’s was a canvas for their dream wedding. They married in the 18 Century Church which stand only 100 yards from the members only exclusive venue. Outside, they took advantage of the kind Autumn weather on the terrace for cocktails and canapes.

The Playroom at Babington House is a wedding videographer’s dream. With its large bay windows, it bathes the room in soft, flattering light. The Playroom’s spaciousness allows for the bridal party to spread out and enjoy the preparation rituals without feeling cramped—every laugh, every touch-up, and every contemplative glance captured in lovely surroundings.

Lauren looked truly amazing! —draped in an exquisite creation by Laure De Sagazan. Her dress was a work of art, a testament to her impeccable taste. The intricate detailing and the elegant silhouette of the gown were accentuated effortlessly by natural light, a Laure De Sagazan dress worn to be admired.

Jon and his groomsmen took advantage of the stunning rooms in the walled garden. The space and abundance of natural light allowed us to capture Jon looking his suave and sophisticated self with ease.

Lauren and Jon’s special day began with a romantic ceremony in the quaint Church of St Margaret’s which lies across from Babington House itself. The church was built in the 1748 and boasts a unique Octagonal Cupola which adds to its intimate feel.

Dodging the threatening Autumn skies, the bridal party made their way across the green and Lauren aided done the aisle by her loving brother. The church and aisle were completed with beautiful floristry art by the outstanding Flowers by Passion who are the in-house florists at Babington House.

During the intimate ceremony, the guests watched on as Lauren and Jon said their vows to each other and a reading was given by Jon’s eldest daughter. A lovely family affair. The couple danced their way back down the aisle in time for a showering of confetti and into their drink’s reception on the croquet lawn.

Their guests ventured back into Babington House and sprawled out onto the vast lawns to enjoy canapes and a drinks reception. In front of the beautiful house, guests relax surrounded by careful manicured gardens. Being a recommended supplier and wedding videographer at Babington House means I know the most beautiful spots for couple shots. Working alongside the immensely talents Imogen Xiana, we took Lauren and Jon on a tour of the grounds and captured them interacting together as newlyweds in my signature discreet style.

Lauren and Jon enjoyed their drinks reception with their guests before welcoming their party into the beautifully presented Orangery where they were treated to a masterclass in fine dining.

After their feast and speeches, the guests made their way back into the House Bar where they partied the night away in true Lauren and Jon style. I said my goodbyes and thanked them for inviting me along to capture their stunning event. It was an absolute pleasure to be a part of.
