Hello! I’m Ryan, the face behind the camera. It is lovely to meet you and welcome to Rolling Film. I specialise in wedding filmmaking and capturing couples’ special moments as they happen with minimal disruption.
I’m very lucky to have such an amazing family and a beautiful home in Cheltenham. I live here with my wife, Kim, and my daughters Millie and Fern. When we’re not working or running around to after school clubs, we love escaping on day trips or longer holidays. We spend a lot of time in Cornwall and Guernsey with friends and family. As long as there is a beach and waves, we are happy! No matter where we go, our gear comes along with us so that we can capture special moments with our cameras!
Videography is an art that allows me to explore new ideas and create stunning visuals. I’m passionate about the craft of videography, and I strive to learn the latest techniques and technology so that I can push boundaries with my work.
Every time I pick up a camera, I’m driven by a desire to craft something beautiful. I love getting to know the people I’m shooting before we start so that I can create a connection with them and begin capturing genuine emotions and expressions. When appropriate, I ask questions about their lives, interests and passions in order to gain insight into what makes them unique – this helps me craft more meaningful visuals and tell their stories through my films.
When I’m capturing an event, my goal is to make sure that the day is all about the people I’m filming. My aim is to provide as little distraction as possible so that natural, beautiful moments can take place. I understand how important it is for people to look their best on-camera and how stressful it can be to pose for pictures, so I strive to make my presence felt in the least obtrusive way as possible. My goal is to allow people to express themselves in a natural way, without feeling uncomfortable or posed. I make sure to blend into the background with my equipment and to be as discreet as possible.
I love being able to document truly beautiful things by providing as little distraction as possible. When all is said and done, seeing those special moments come alive in each frame is incredibly rewarding! That’s why it’s so special to capture my couples’ events – because you have the opportunity to preserve these unique moments in time.
